Hidden Kyoto - the way it should be

Posted by

It's difficult to find quiet places around Kyoto these days after the city was declared the most popular tourist destination two years running. The major temples and shrines are like circuses now with tens of thousands of people with smart phones and selfie sticks shuffling through daily. It's impossible to experience the calm reverence those places use to offer. This is a lesser-known spot called Inari-Jinja which stands on Yoshida Yama.

What a beautiful and peaceful spot with those wonderful toriis. Even the cat relishes the tranquility.
