It does not need any fish :) It is such a pretty bird - all it needs is to show his pretty feathers !
Beautiful closeup you took , with super DOF !

hahaha, great shot, wow, it didnt move for the exposure, all the animals i try to shoot are way too jumpy to stay long enough to get that nice blur :) great shot, and excellent sharpness.

I love the sharp details here. That's perfect.

Joe Jubinville from Florida, United States

Just one, huh? You say that now... The slow shutter and blurred background isolate the bird and foreground details, feathers, moss, rock, that give the shot a striking archival look that suggest Audubon. Very nice.

He looks so sad, I hope he get his fish.

"Success is what happens when 10,000 hours of preparation meet with one moment of opportunity."
(Anonymous) Just to say it's of course luck (hello my dearest HCB), but also a lot of preparation that often consists only on being here - inner eyes open : alive and available/attentive. And you prove it wonderfully here. I just Love the palpable presence you caught here of this 3D-like big bird, Stu...nning ;)

but he knows happiness of life, I hope so.
I imagined that from your title..
It's so difficult to say my thought in English well.
I need study more about photography and English.

Your title really tells a story, shows how tired he is waiting for that fish to come by. This is a sensational shot, love the detail of the bird and how expressive this is.

Wow! This is amazing! How did you get the bird so crisp with such a long exposure? However you did it, I LOVE everything about this image - the fact that bird has its back turned to us, the colors, the smooth water - everything!

10 Nov 2009 3:01am

@willow: Thx Willow! As the quotes states: "Of course it's all luck". Luckily it didn't move for the half second exposure - I have numerous shots where the result was not so successful! ;-)
