The Secret GardenPosted by Stu (Scotland | Residing in Kyoto, Japan) on 5 September 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. My first attempt at infrared photography. Taken through a Hoya R-72 infrared filter. It's almost totally black - hence the 30-second exposure in the middle of the afternoon. High quality prints available upon request. Florence from Paris, FranceTotally fairy ! I dream to go to Japan one day ! 5 Sep 2009 9:37am Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesThis is really great! Excellent effect here. 8 Sep 2009 3:17pm Esther K ~ from Kota Kinabalu, MalaysiaI'm not familiar with infrared but I like it - looks like something out of a fairytale. Is the effect totally the lens' doing? 9 Sep 2009 2:17am @Esther K ~: Thx Esther. It's 90% the filter's doing I'd say. It's certainly impossible to recreate this effect without the filter. You can create different colours in the final image - as you'll see from my post today (9th). 6ft5 from stockholm, SwedenRalph pointed in your direction and I´m glad he did. Excellent image and processing! 22 Oct 2009 6:04am dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statesa dreamland of sorts!! faaabulous! did you keep the blues and infra red the rest? awesome combination of infra-white and color!!! 4 Nov 2009 8:30pm @dj.tigersprout: Thx dj. Actually when the image is unprocessed the sky is gold and the trees are blue! I alter the colours using channel mixer to make the sky blue and the trees pink. The blue sky brings at least a modicum of realism to an otherwise totally unrealistic image. Thx for taking the time to peruse my blog and comment. |
