I LOVE pictures that give a tantalizing glimpse of hidden objects!!
The glowing colors of the japanese maple provide the perfects splash of color in the nearly BW scheme.
And it is that splash of color that really makes me want to peek over the fence!!

Other viewers asked if that was a japanese maple.. yes, it is. Some of the Japanes maples have wonderful names that when translated to English conjure up visions of vibrance and gaiety. Some of my favorites are "Dancing Little Red Haired Girl" , "Proud Peacock" and "Mane of Roaring Lion".
There are thousands of different varieties now being raised by hybridizers.

@jim: I'm so glad you left this information here Jim. I've been a bit confused about the Maple - I thought they only turned red in Autumn so I assumed they were something else. Thx for the comments!

A stellar composition, my friend. The tale is told in the most subtle way. Actually, as far as the anti-purist (aka antidisestablishmentarianist) in me is concerned, this is the dog's bollocks. The only thing that's lacking is a perky pair of breasts. But that's the purist in me having the final say. Don't pay any attention to that. ;)
