Ah, yes, the giant steel candle built in '48 to commemorate the anniversary of the original King Kong film. It was the beginning of the delightful intercontinental relationship with the country blessed by fifty-odd stars on its national flag. Have any giant tanuki scaled that thing of late? I fondly recall the summer of '04 when the Japanese Defense Force was tested to its last round of defensive bullets. But as has been the case since the year dot, defense always wins. May the giant steel candle of Kyoto continue to light the way for us mere mortals to follow. ;p

I love the mixture of visible structures behind the glass and the reflection. Good b&w conversion.
