I'm curious to find out what processing you've used - orton effect? love the tones you've achieved - and I do wish I was as asleep as this man!

@Adiemus: Thanks Bronnie! Yes, I'm a true believer in the Orton effect. It gives nice tones on b&w images as well as colour. Like Amy, I'm trying it on nearly everything these days, just altering the level of blur to suit the image.

I think the effect works well with this subject. The detail of the spider in the previous photo seemed to be lost somewhat whereas its subtle softening of the subject is assentuated hyar.

PS You're an intrusive bugger aren't you? ;)
