Francis from Hong Kong, Hong KongNice natural portrait Stu, and I like the pp work in dulling the background so we focus on her face. 24 Apr 2007 5:59am Dimitrios from ATHENS, Greecesuperb foto, like the fuzzy atmosphere, very smooth, well done 24 Apr 2007 8:24am Sash from Adelaide, AustraliaYou caught her at a reflective moment that's both flattering and innocent. You've got to tell me in more detail how you do the contrasting foreground and background as it adds to the subject's allure. 24 Apr 2007 11:39am @Sash: Thanks Sash. If you have Skype let me know your details, if not, I recommend downloading it. Then I can talk you through it no problem. Jen from Jessup, United StatesBeautiful portrait Stu...I love the glow around her face...very nice! 24 Apr 2007 2:05pm Daroru from Amagasaki, JapanVery warm image. I like that we don't know what she's looking at / who she's with etc... nice ambiguity. 24 Apr 2007 2:36pm Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesVery nicely done! What a beautiful woman! 24 Apr 2007 3:29pm Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiashe is shy ! haha...lovely capture indeed,Stu ! 24 Apr 2007 3:55pm Alex Lee from Jeju, South KoreaLooking back at some of your archived photos, I really like the soft colors you employ. I lived in Japan for a few years as a college student and later for work, but I moved to Korea last April with my wife (also a student in Japan, but she's Korean). I've been to Kyoto a few times and done the tourist deal (obligatory 金閣寺、清水寺, etc.) but I much prefer your Kyoto than my touristy Kyoto. Have you been down to Kyushu at all? If you have the chance, you should take a weekend and head down there - There are some amazing photo opportunities the further you head south. 25 Apr 2007 1:49am @Alex Lee: Many thanks Alex. Yeah, it's funny you should mention Kyushu. I have visited Okinawa and Hokkaido but not Kyushu or Shikoku, and was thinking about going to one of them the next time I have some time off. If you have any specific places in mind I'd really love to hear about them. @Sidonie: Thanks Sidonie! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaVery nice, the way you've used light in this photo is impressive especially how it reflects of her hair; this also enhances the effect of depth of field. Great work, you've captured a nice moment! 25 Apr 2007 4:07am Celialee from Kyoto, JapanI agree with everyone - it is really lovely. Love the lighting as well. 25 Apr 2007 6:22am Michelle from Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaExcellent - depth of field is lovely. 25 Apr 2007 12:44pm |
