Daruma - Job DonePosted by Stu (Scotland | Residing in Kyoto, Japan) on 1 April 2007 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. This little figure is called Daruma. Daruma is something you buy or are given when you are facing a task. When you start the task you paint in one of the eyes. Then when the task is done you paint the other eye. This one was in a temple lantern and I liked the contrast of colours and how it looked so out of place there. Thanks for the visit! High quality prints available upon request. Great shot man! 1 Apr 2007 7:53am Colour blind from Tokyo, Japanwas this yours?? if so you've got a great way of painting the eyes...very artistic. If it was yours I'm glad your achievement was realised. 1 Apr 2007 9:02am @Colour blind: Thanks mate! Actually....have to confess it wasn't mine Kelly. Whoever coloured it in did have a good technique though. Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaNice! Daruma-さん helped me find a job a few years ago. 1 Apr 2007 2:41pm |
