Wow! Where did you find this treasure?

@Ee Yuing: Thanks Yuing! It was in a shop window here in Kyoto. Looked very rare and well-preserved.

Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, Australia

Ah, that's fantastic; looks in good nic too. The colour treatment is great her Stu, it suites the subject nicely leaving a nostalgic-times-past feeling without overdoing it. Nicely framed!

Bronnie from Christchurch, New Zealand

I can feel my fingers itching to touch her... old machinery/equipment is great, I always wonder who has owned it, what they used it for, what it was touted to do when it was The Next Big Thing!!!
I do like the lighting and toning, makes this a very harmonious picture.

Darren from Japan

Nice piece of history there mate. What camera is that anyway?

9 Feb 2007 2:21pm

@Darren: Hi Daz, sorry to take so long to reply. I think it's a Technika - I reckon H.O. would know more about this kind of stuff. I just saw it in a shop window and thought it looked special.

Michelle Bialowas from Melbourne Victoria, Australia

I have been lucky enough to work with large format camera's - they haven't been as old as the one in the image but don't they have such a lovely character, something I miss with the digital medium.

Dang from Marietta, United States

Lovely shot, reminds me of the old days shooting large format. Cant's say I miss lugging such things around, or miss the smell of processing. But sure did love the tilt & shift of the old guys.
This one looks fairly new, or little used to say the least. Great find, and well photographed.
