Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaInteresting line-up of people you've got there, and lovely lighting as well. I guess イヤ。 translates something like 'no way!', yes? Adds a certain feeling of intrigue to the scene. 2 Feb 2007 5:11am @Damon Schreiber: Thanks Damon! Yeah, as far as I can gather "イヤ" means "no way!" Francis from Hong KongInteresting composition Stu love the diagonals and the lighting on the woman in the foreground 2 Feb 2007 6:25am Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandThe expressions say soooo much. I love the lighting. 2 Feb 2007 8:45am Sidonie from Sydney, AustraliaThe cities are full of these people with earplugs who are dissociated from the sounds and real-time passing around them. You've captured her beautifully, but it's the cyclist who is the real subject. Really nice one, Stu. 2 Feb 2007 9:09am Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyWooaw! She does have an interesting face expression! 2 Feb 2007 11:11am Still from Valence, Franceinteresting ! You've well captured the mood of the moment! 2 Feb 2007 11:16am Craig Persel from Montreal, CanadaSitting, riding, standing and listening. Got it all covered. :-) 2 Feb 2007 8:52pm Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaFantastic use of DOF here Stu, really gives the photo depth; great expressions too, the guy on the bike seems totally free (off in another world), I like how the girl in the foreground is staring directly into the lens - it really grounds the photo in reality - the interplay between them both is great. Nice work! 2 Feb 2007 10:24pm Jerry from Tampa, United StatesStu - this is an awesome image! Wow, did you capture the look on her face??!!!!! Well done!!! 2 Feb 2007 10:40pm @zach siebert: Thanks Zach! Alfredo J. Martiz J. from Tokyo, JapanI agree about the lineup of the people, really nice, great DOF and scene! 3 Feb 2007 5:03pm Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanNice take stu, she joins the ever growing collection of zoned people we both seem to have a predilection for. A bit worrying ne! 4 Feb 2007 11:31am Sash from Adelaide, AustraliaSugoi! This image sums up the first few months I spent in Japan. It brings back bitter-sweet memories of a unique cultural extravaganza which slowly unfolds as you come to terms with some of the finer idiosyncrasies. I hope you managed to get a shot of the bloke on the bike in the background. :) 10 Apr 2007 12:43pm @Sash: Thanks Mr Sensei! This was a spontaneous shot as I was waiting to cross the street. As soon as the girl stopped in front of the magazine stand I snapped it and by chance there was an interesting line up of characters in the background. It is weird how so many people here walk around with headphones on pumping in vacuous J-pop, disconnected from their surroundings. I love how the girl is looking into the lens too. |
