S O SPosted by Stu (Scotland | Residing in Kyoto, Japan) on 31 January 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. The Midosuji Line, Osaka. I went through to Osaka on Monday to buy a P.C. and decided to use the time on public transport to try and get some subway shots. I've been inspired by Duncs and Damon and now realize how hard it is to get good shots here! Hats off to you both for making it look so easy! High quality prints available upon request. Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaSpeaking of making it look easy... Sterling work here! Can't fault it a bit. Love the way the train's motion is blurred up close but appears still at a distance. Pow! 31 Jan 2007 5:58am orson from kingstonia, United Stateswow, amazing photo. i don't think i could get that close. great capture. 31 Jan 2007 6:15am Alfredo J. Martiz J. from Tokyo, JapanI love the motion blur, I also like the expression of the station guy, staring at you like don't do it! Great Shot! 31 Jan 2007 8:20am Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyThis is a winner: love the train motion, the people reflections on the train windows and the vivid detail & sharpness of the people on the pier. Excellent! 31 Jan 2007 9:25am Francis from Hong KongBeautiful blur shot. Love the angle . It looks like you were dangerously close to the train. 31 Jan 2007 3:26pm John Hartman from Kyoto, JapanThat DID turn out nice; with the movement of the conductor's jacket you can almost feel the wind rush by. 31 Jan 2007 4:53pm Zach Siebert from Bologna, Italy"Bellissima!" that's what my girlfriend said as soon as i opened up your blog page. nice, stu. 31 Jan 2007 5:23pm Angry Buddha from United StatesI know what you mean. I'm terrible at photographing people.Nicely done here. 31 Jan 2007 8:06pm Michael from Glasgow, United KingdomThis is great, so much to see. Our subway system looks nowhere near as good as this, but you might have just inspired me to give it a go anyway. Nice one. 31 Jan 2007 11:08pm @Michael: Go on mate! Would love to see the clockwork orange up here! jc from Irelandwell done, stu - looks like the guy was none too happy with your camera antics ..stay behind that yellow line! 1 Feb 2007 12:53am Colour blind from Tokyo, JapanFantastic job mate. I've always wanted to take photos around the trains but I'd end up looking like a train otaku so I decided against it. The fact that I look Japanese aswell doesn't really work for me either. But one day I'll get the guts up and give it a go. I do love the contrasting speed shot and the expression on the conductors face is priceless. 1 Feb 2007 1:36am Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandCool stuff Stu - inspiration for me - again... How did you get the selective blurring??? 1 Feb 2007 4:52am @Bronnie: Hi Bronnie! Actually the train was moving - it was arriving at the station so no effects added. :-) Michael Zhang from New York City, United StatesThis is awesome. Lines, movement and the conductor. Colors are great too. 1 Feb 2007 10:43pm bronzebilly from cardiff, United Kingdomthis shot has got to be in the top three shots of the community--a prize winner--billy 2 Feb 2007 12:43am @bronzebilly: Wow. Thanks Billy! Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanNice job stu and glad to be of inspiration ;). I get mine from all over this site myself, great place aint it. Love the expression. I shot almost exactly the same shot a while back but the conductors face didnt cut the mustard, this one does. fine job. 4 Feb 2007 11:29am Line from Chambly, CanadaSplendid shot. 14 Jul 2007 5:03pm |
