@Maoya: Thanks Maoya! Indeed, hmmmm... Dimitrios from ATHENS, Greecethis is like a theater stage, maybe someone is taking a bath in the background, composition and colours are very nise, regards Dimitrios 16 Jan 2007 6:47am @Dimitrios: Thanks Dimitrios! @H.O: ありがとうございます、ひろさん! Lucca's café from Cologne, GermanyI like it a lot. Beautiful tone, lots of interesting lines. Where does the light come from? Is it a museum or something? 16 Jan 2007 9:16am @Lucca's café: Thanks Lucca! Good question. Not too sure. I think the light is coming from up those spiral stairs. It looked like a regular house, there was no indication it was a museum. Am a little mystified by it. @Makoto: ありがとうございます、まことさん! benjamin from Singaporereally lovely composition... every bit, down to the reflection on the door speaks something. the pipe on the right catches my attention. very fine. its like so traditional with just slight touches of modern technology. really lovely 16 Jan 2007 12:44pm @benjamin: Thanks Benjamin! Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesYes, great tones! Very interesting shot! 16 Jan 2007 2:27pm @Craiger: Thanks Craiger! Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaInteresting photo (I mean that in a good way). Did you do something unusual with the processing? It looks oddly flat - like a painting. 16 Jan 2007 3:43pm @Damon Schreiber: Thanks Damon! It does look flat now that you mention it. Didnt notice that before. Nothing too unusual in the processing. Just altered the lighting and saturation a little and added a warm filter. Francis from Hong Kong, Hong KongStu love your work. This one has beautiful tonality. 16 Jan 2007 3:48pm @Francis: Thanks Francis! Your post yesterday was a stunner. Welcome to Am3! Darren from JapanMate this is great. Doesn't look a photograph though, looks more like a really amazing painting. 16 Jan 2007 4:06pm @Darren: Thanks Daz! @Still: Merci beaucoup, Still! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaThis shot does have a real painting quality to it, the processing is top-notch; I also think it links in very well with yesterdays image (stylistically). Great shot mate! 16 Jan 2007 9:38pm @Chris Sullivan: Thanks Chris! Not too sure how that painting look happened to be honest..... bronzebilly from cardiff, United Kingdomperfect lighting--like your other commentees it does strike you as a stage setting--great result--billy 16 Jan 2007 11:24pm @bronzebilly: Thanks Billy! Maybe that's a stage costume hanging on the wall. Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyIt does look like a paintint! Amazing... 16 Jan 2007 11:27pm @Manuela Photography: Thanks Manuela! Roland from NetherlandsIt reminds me of a Vermeer actually (dutch master). Not only that it looks like a painting but also the whole setting! Quite intriguing.. 17 Jan 2007 2:41am @Roland: Thanks for visiting Roland! As you say.....intriguing. :-) Evelyn from New Milford, United StatesI have a theory for why it looks like a painting, and flat: a lot of objects are placed on a horizontal parallel with each other; there aren't a lot of shadow suggesting depth--in fact, it's hard to find a vanishing point for a horizon; you shot it straight on--very hard to do right!--and the framing is very deliberate. 18 Jan 2007 4:01am @Evelyn: Thanks Evelyn! I will definitely have to defer to your judgement on this one. Sounds very plausible indeed. Sidonie from Sydney, Australia16 comments and not one ventures an answer to your question, so I will proffer this: those things hanging on the wall are a kimono, a netsuke pouch, and a strap-on objet erotique ... 18 Jan 2007 10:20am @Sidonie: Thanks Sidonie! Objet erotique indeed..... Hmmmm ;-) |
