Lucca's café from Cologne, Germany

For me this image has a strong expression. It looks like a movie-scene. I wonder what happens here. Cannot read the faces of the two women.

Lucca's café from Cologne, Germany

Oh, I forgot to say: I'd like to see a photo no. 3 of this series.

11 Jan 2007 9:45am

@Lucca's café: Thanks Lucca! Yeah, I've been looking for another one but with no success sadly. Will keep my eye open though.

Srinivas Koduri from Visakhapatnam, India

interesting photo this is. i still wondering what is in the minds of the two women watching the guy smoke. did u ask them to pose?. it is a good one.

11 Jan 2007 10:40am

@Srinivas Koduri: Thanks Srinivas! No, there's no posing here. It's all natural and to be honest I don't quite know what to make of it either :)

Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, Japan

Hey stu, great mini series here. Were these two ladies with this guy?

11 Jan 2007 11:51am

@Duncan Galbraith: Thanks Duncs. no i don't think so. the guy just wandered over and paused to light-up and then i noticed the women there, watching. weird....

Makoto from Sapporo, Japan

Craiger from Vacaville, California, United States

Those women don't look happy with the smoker to me. And, the smoker doesn't seem to be concerned with the women or the photographer. Just my read. Great series!

Kerstin from Paris, France

There is a lot of emotion in this shot. It's all the more brilliant since they did not pose for you. Excellent shot!

@Paulo Oliveira: Thanks Paulo!

Sash from Adelaide, Australia

I haven't seen them all (yet) but I reckon this one's somewhere at the top of the heap. You've condensed a rollercoaster of a 'hyuman durama' into an epic single frame. Gob + smacked = me right now.

13 Apr 2007 12:03pm

@Sash: Wow! Thanks Sash! Yeah I was really lucky with this one. Some people asked me if this was staged but it honestly wasn't. It does seem to tell a story, but to be honest I prefer the portrait shot The Lord of the Manner (the previous post). It's so candid.
Thanks for checking back through my backlog mate.
