Nanzenji -1

Posted by Stu (Scotland | Residing in Kyoto, Japan) on 28 November 2006 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Going on holiday tomorrow so wont be able to reply to comments for a week or so but please dont be deterred! Will be back soon with replies and a series of posts from my trip to Bali.
In the meantime, this is Nanzenji, one of the most popular temples in Kyoto during the Fall due to the abundance of red maple. For movie buffs reading this, this is where they filmed the short, Japanese wedding scene in 'Lost in Translation'.
Another Nanzenji shot is in future posts. Hope you enjoy.....

Don't forget to take your charger to Bali mate!!! I hope you have a spare battery too!! Take some wicked pics of Bali. Can't wait to see that series of photos. Most importantantly don't forget your camera!!! Have a good trip!!

28 Nov 2006 11:38pm

@Colour blind: Everythings prepared colourblind! Actually the theme of forgetting cameras is a bit of a sore point - I went to Thailand a couple of years back and lost one (not stolen - LOST!). I didnt mind really about the camera, they can be replaced, but i lost over 200 pics! Self-loathing is not a strong enough expression. Gonna try to make up for that this time.

I love what you've done here Stu. The one sprig of maple is a great touch without being overbearing. The DOF is spot on too--just enough blur to make it interesting.
