Stone foxes like this are often seen in shrines, standing in front of torii gates. This little shrine is just on the edge of Yamashina, Kyoto. It's not famous or anything and I got the feeling that there weren't many visitors, and on this damp afternoon there was a quiet loneliness about the place.
