Stone foxes like this are often seen in shrines, standing in front of torii gates. This little shrine is just on the edge of Yamashina, Kyoto. It's not famous or anything and I got the feeling that there weren't many visitors, and on this damp afternoon there was a quiet loneliness about the place.

@Damon Schreiber: Many thanks damon. And thanks for the link to bullfrog there too.....it is indeed very relevant and interesting.
Great shot mate. I'm pretty superstitious about taking photo's of those foxes. Something freaky happened one day when I was taking a photo of one. Anyway love the composition. Keep up the good work.

@Myst: thanks myst. your comments are always appreciated. keep up your good work.
I like the lines and pattern in the gate entrance. How funny that Damon posted the fox story today too. We have photos of rhinos and foxes in two's today. This fox looks much more fierce compared to the real one in Damon's shot.

Great shot mate, it looks like one freaky fox. The torii gates kinda lead off somewhere which gives the photo a very nice effect.

Thank you for sharing! even though it is not a popular tourist attraction or anything, it's nice to see through the eyes of someone who lives in another country, and in this case, Japan.
